Located in the central province of Sri Lanka, Sigiriya is a UNESCO World Heritage site that is home to the remains of an ancient palace. Sigiriya was built in the 5th century AD and served as a royal residence for a short period of time. The palace is situated on top of a large rock outcropping and is surrounded by landscaped gardens.
